David M. Heaney, CHT

David M. Heaney has been fully employed in diving and hyperbaric medicine for 33 years. He became a US Navy Hospital Corpsman, working in aviation and diving commands. Upon discharge, he became a Registered Physicians Assistant, working in compressed air tunneling operations and also as a Safety Director and Dive Supervisor for offshore oilfield commercial diving firms. He became involved with the design, construction and operation of clinical hyperbaric chambers, subsequently inaugurating and managing four clinical hyperbaric programs at major hospitals in 3 States. He has been awarded the Oceaneering Award for Diving Safety and has presented numerous abstracts and papers at conferences & symposia since 1977.
